Richard Thompson
My name is Richard Thompson. My adventures in art started when I was very young. At the age of 3 to 4 years old. I had my small box of crayons and a couple of coloring books, but I was bored of coloring in them. My mother had purchased an encyclopedia set from a door to door salesperson several months earlier. Then I realized each book had blank pages in the front and back of each volume. So I thought, what a great idea it would be to add color and be creative. I started to draw some cars, trucks and animals figures , then began to color them in without my mother noticing I was being creative. I proceeded in my new journey. After several volumes had been given colorful and art inspired pages, my mother finally noticed me and stopped my current art adventure! The journey of my art involvement continued throughout grade school and high school. I joined the Air Force in 1975 and my maintenance field was basically aircraft structural repair, involving corrosion control of aircraft. I found that my most enjoyable part was the painting of aircraft and other military related items. Today, my art is a combination of photography, acrylic paintings, pencil drawing, pottery, woodworking and repairing and redesigning clocks. I’m supported and encouraged by my wife Diane, daughter Michelle and also my 3 adult grandchildren, Jourdan, Trey and Monet. Thank you for viewing my various art pieces. My artist name: Ricardo
