Gary Ferrier
Gary Ferrier, originally from Louisiana, now lives near Pottsboro, TX with two horses, some cows and his cat, Mr. Kitty. Gary says “I have always been an artist.” Obligations, priorities and just making a living can sometimes get in the way, until he recognized what had been missing in his life. Creating Art has been a major part of his life for the past 15 years. Events of the day direct him to his next project. Working in oils, acrylics, wood and metals, his subjects include horses and riders, animals in the wild and scenery of the South West. Throwing in an occasional still life.
Beginning his art career, his friend, artist Maryland Daniels, was instrumental in teaching, guiding, promoting and inspiring him in his art journey. “She said I have potential, and I try not to let her down.” Gary has also been influenced by many other artists he has encountered along the way.
Gary’s works have been featured in the SAL Sherman Art’s Festival, where he is a board member, the Creative Art’s Show in Bohnam, TX, The Magnolia Festival in Durant, OK and the Madill Art Show in Madill, OK.
