In this stand-alone graphite drawing class, young artists ages 9 and up will focus on building real foundational drawing skills through a charming architectural scene.

Students will learn how to break down a more detailed subject into manageable steps, making perspective and proportion feel approachable and not overwhelming.

We’ll explore how to create depth using a full range of graphite values, from light, soft highlights to deeper shadows, while practicing techniques like shading, blending, and line control. Texture becomes a big focus as students bring surfaces like stucco walls, wood doors, stone steps, and leafy plants to life.

This is a wonderful class for developing patience, observation, and confidence, guiding students beyond simple outlines into drawings that feel dimensional and expressive.
